July / August 2012 Monthly Empties!

So as promised my next post would be a collaborated July and August Monthly Empties. I haven't got many really as most things are about half empty, I'm hoping to have more for the next month. So these are my July and August Empties....

Simple Kind To Skin Purifying Cleansing Lotion
I loved using this Lotion as a Day time moisturiser, it worked great under my makeup. It kept my skin moisturised all day and didn't make me break out. The only thing I didn't like about this product was how you have to squeeze it to get it out, since its only got one hole when I did that I often had access product left over so it kinda wasted most of it. It would be great depoted into a bottle though.

Nivea Smooth Nourishing Hand Cream
I had a larger version of this hand cream featured in my June Empties which you can see here. This is the sample size i got at Christmas or something and only started using it a month or two ago. I loved it! Its definitely helped my nail growth as well as keeping my hands moisturised and in tip top shape. Without it for past few weeks I've definitely seen a change for the worse in my hands and I think I'll have to invest in this again or buy something else.

Barry M 3 In 1 Mascara
This is another product I've had since Christmas but only got round to using it about 3 months ago? This mascara is supposed to give you volume, length and curl. In all honesty I got none of that. Its great for applying to your bottom lashes though, due to the thin, straight, basic wand. I wouldn't deem in worthy of £6.19.

Morrison's Make Sensitive Facial Wipes
My Mum usually gets my Facial / Makeup Remover Wipes for me and she usually just gets what ever. Its like trying to remove your makeup with a Kleenex. I had to use 3 of these things just to get one face of makeup off, were I usually only have to use one. There not thick either , which is another thing I usually look for in a Facial / Makeup Remover Wipe. They tore super easy.

New MUA Products And Seche Vite Haul!

So yesterday I went to town again. I've been dieing to pick up some of the new MUA products, and I was in desperate need of a new top coat. As my Sally Hansen one had almost run out, and the formula had gone all bad. So this is what I got...

Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat
That's right! I finally took the plunge and decided to purchase Seche Vite's famous Dry Fast top coat. If you follow me on Twitter, you would know a few months ago I was debating purchasing this one or another Sally Hansen. I'm so glad I decided on this. I used it about 30 minutes ago when I was painting my nails, so far I love it! It was £9 from Boots, which some might think is a tad to expensive for a top coat.

MUA Pro Going For Gold Eyeshadow Palette
In case you didn't know already, but you probably did, MUA have recently brought out two new eye palettes. Undressed and Going For Gold. I was torn between deciding which of the two to get first. When I couldn't find Undressed in Superdrug *Silently Crys* I thought I may swell get Going For Gold as I love gold shades with my green eyes. This was £4, likewise all the other palettes.

MUA Pro Every Lash Mascara
I'm a sucker for mascara, like I've mentioned before. I've tried every mascara in the MUA range, some of which I've loved but some not so much. So when they launched a new one, with a bendy wand, I just needed it. Stupidly enough I got the "waterproof black" one instead of just black. I wore it today, soon to be in a FOTD post, I love it! It was only £3.

June 2012 Favourites!

Another month, another monthly favourites! So lets take a look at what Im loving this month...

Not many new products as I've been trying to save my money for DisneyLand, only a week today, Yayy!:)

Sally Hansen Natural Beauty Your Beauty Skin Makeup, Eruc Beige
For some reason, I haven't gotten round to reviewing this yet. Which is actually quite strange considering its been one of my holy grail, every day use's since Easter. This is the lightest shade I think, and Im quite pale even in summer so this is great for pale skinned girls! Its thin, but not to thin and blends with ease into the skin. I have normal, moisturised skin with oily patches around my nose. And this lasts all day on me!

MeMeMe Beat The Blues, Moonbeam
I've been loving this as a highlight this month! It's a sheer, shimmery pink shade which blends easily into the skin. I find some pink shades of blush really hard to wear on my skin, but this looks amazing. It lasts all day, but I won't be revealing to much as this is next on my hit list to review!

NYC Cheek Glow Blush, Central Park Pink
I think this was in one of my favourites a few months ago, but once again this has been pulled out my makeup draw everyday. I've been loving the nude, peachy shade of this blush. Aswell as its staying power, lasting almost all day!

Benefit Bad Gal Lash
I got this free with glamour magazine this month, as Im sure almost every other beauty blogger out there has been doing. I've been obessed with this mascara lately using it for a base, while layering with other mascaras. It gives volume, length and a coat of black mascara to your lashes. You can check out my full review here

Avon Glow Powder Eyeshadow, Golden Sand
My nana actually bought this product, mistaking it for something else and giving it to me. Its really hard to explain the colour of this eyeshadow other then a sort of yellow sand colour, likewise the name. After applying this over eye primer it lasts all day, and doesnt fade or crease. Strangely I've been wearing this with golds this month and it looks quite nice.

BeautyUK Lipstick, In The Buff
I got this a week or two ago, but didnt see the point of hauling it as I only got one product. Since purchasing this I've worn it non stop! Im in love with the scent of it. Mint, but not overpowering mint. However you can barely smell it once applied to the lips. Its a sort of  "my lips but better" shade but slightly more red. I'll definitely be reviewing this soon, so watch this space!

Review: Benefit Bad Gal Mascara!

If you read my blog regularly you will know that I'm a sucker for mascara! I mainly go for drugstore mascara, but when glamour magazine teamed up with Benefit. And gave away free mini bad gal mascara's I just had to get my hands on one!

Let's take a look at the wand...

I'm quite a fan of the packaging on this mascara. Its not to basic, yet not to over the top with design. The mascara comes in a black tube with a sliver reflective lid/handle. With Benefit written on the bottom of the tube. Very chick, very stylish.

Due to this mascara being a sample, it doesn't have the full size wand. However the wand on this mascara is fairly easy to work with. The bristles seem quite large considering this mascara is only a sample, but the bristles/wand definitely do contribute to the final look helping to give your lashes the extra boast and added volume. I'm obsessed with large wands as you all know, but with the actually bristles on the wand, I would suggest being very care full as I occasionally get mascara on my lid.

The formula's great. Likewise NYC's City Curls, this is yet another mascara I've came across that doesn't seem to clump at all! I wouldn't say the formula really thickens your eyelashes, but it does make a great base for other mascaras or you could apply a few coats. It easily added volume, minimum length and a thin coat of black mascara to my lashes. These photos just don't do it Justice!

Overall I would recommend this mascara if you've got the £16.50 to fork out for it. As I have tried other mascara's in the past that have produced similar results. Never the less it boasted my straight lashes, to create these lovely natural day time ones. Sadly I don't think I will be purchasing the full size product though.

£20 Makeup Challenge!

I seen loads of videos on youtube of beauty guru's doing the £20 Makeup Challenge. And after reading Sharna's ( link ) post on the £20 Makeup Challenge, I thought It would be real fun to do it myself. Mixing it up abit from the regular reviews, hauls, favourites ect.ect.

So these are the products I choose...

Total = £19.18

MUA Pro BB Cream, Light £4 - It covers up imperfections really well, and leaves a dewy, sheer, finish. It lasts all day, the formula is quite thick. But looks fine once blended into the skin.

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer, Fair £4.19 - Easily the best concealer I've ever tried! The formula is also thick, but its really easy to blend. And leaves medium to full coverage. It lasts longer then the 16 hour promise, and doesn't crease.

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Powder, Fair £2.99 - Sets liquid makeup really well, and doesn't make you look too powdery leaving a natural, Matt finish. It doesn't really last 16 hours, I would say more 4-5 hours.

MUA Pro Eye Primer, £2.50 - I've reviewed this in the past due to its amazing quality! It keeps eyeshadow and eyeliner in place all day, and the eye makeup doesn't fade away or crease either. For the price its a shocker, which i will continue to repurchase!

MUA Mascara, Shade 5 £1 - Lengthens, separates and adds a black coat of mascara to your lashes. As well as adding minimum volume perfect for the everyday look. Does flake slightly, but for the price its perfect!

MUA Pro 3 in 1 Contour Eye Pen, Sage £1.50 - As some of you may know, I'm a sucker for bright eye shades like green, blue and purple. This eye pen is a bright green shade, it lasts all day over eye shadow primer. It doesn't crease or fade away and you get a fair amount for the price.

MUA Intense Colour Eye Pencil, Snow White £1 - I cannot live without this eyeliner! I use it everyday on my waterline, it glides on creamy and pigmented. It lasts all day, and doesn't smudge, fade or crease.

MUA Love Heart's Range Lip Balm, Great Lips £2 - Whenever I go for bright eyes, I tend to add a hint of lip balm. Usually a nude colour. This is my go to lip balm! Its a nude/peachy colour, which is extremely moisturising and lasts about 2 hours. Its smells divine! Like a sweet, vanilla sent which I love!

Top 4 Mascara's!

I was stuck on what to blog about tonight, and since I haven't blogged since Tuesday I thought a post was well overdue. So here we have it, my personal favourite Top 4 Mascara's!

Left To Right: Clinique High Impact, Miss Sporty Pump Up Lash Booster, NYC City Curls, Avon Super Shock.

These aren't going to be in any specif order, like my most favourite, 2nd favourite ect.ect
Just my top 4 favourites.

So first on my list is, Clinique's High Impact. Which I got in the Clinique mascara swap about a month ago or something? The wand and formula of this mascara work hand in hand, to create a boost to your lashes. Which makes a massive difference from my usual straight outwards lashes, if that makes any sense. What I like about the formula is that it thickens lashes, which is one of the things my eye lashes seem to lack.  Depending on how you apply it, it can clump. It doesn't flake off, which is a added bonus.

I'm not to sure if this was in one of my favourites posts a few months ago? But this mascara is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! For only £3.99 this has got to be one of my best mascara buys yet. I'm in love with the monster brush, its great for adding volume, minimal length and a thick coat of black mascara. The formula also contributes to this. I don't tend to go for lengthen mascara, as my lashes are already quite long. It doesn't flake off, and lasts about 16 hours.

If your a regular reader of my blog, then you will know I constantly rave about this mascara! It's been in 2 monthly favourites, and I have a review up on it. In my opinion this is one of the best drugstore curling mascara's at the moment. It gives a natural curl to your lashes, which lasts all day. Its not very thickening, but you could layer it with another mascara for that or add more coats. However this mascara is perfect for day time wear, and it's probably one of the only mascara's I own that is IMPOSSIBLE to clump. No matter how many coats you add, and it doesn't flake off.

So last, but not least, we have Avon's Super Shock mascara. I don't think this has been in any favourites for some reason, but I have reviewed this. First of I'm a massive fan of the formula of this mascara! Once again, like NYC's City Curls this mascara lacks in the thickening department. However it separates your lashes wonderfully, and gives them a definite boost and added volume. It gives you a thin coat of mascara, and clumps ever so slightly depending on how many coats you wear. It doesn't flake off either.

Review: Avon Super Shock Mascara

Since I don't post mascara reviews very often I thought I'd rattle one up on Avon's SuperShock Mascara. I didn't buy this myself, I got it for my birthday from a friend but as you can tell buy the name you can buy it from the Avon. I'm not sure on how much though.

Shade "Black" but camera wouldn't focus.

Length wise the wand is quite short in my opinion.

Short, straight bristles closely grouped together.

Before mascara....

After mascara!

I like the packaging on this product, its simple yet decorative with a flowery pattern on the tube. However it still does it's job of keeping the mascara safe, doesn't feel cheap, and looks professional. I'm a big fan of the wand on this mascara, as I often find that big wands really do boast my lashes. The wand consists of short straight bristles closely grouped together, and helps you get to the very root of your lashes.  The wand prevents you from using this mascara on your bottom lashes, as its very big and you risk getting mascara all under your eye.

I sort of have a love-hate relationship with this product, I find that the formula works great with my outer lashes and really does boast them and add volume. Hence the name "Super Shock". However I find that it does little for my inner lashes. The formula gives you lashes a definite coat of black mascara, as well as giving your upper lashes the natural day time look. It doesn't really thicken your eyelashes much, but I love to layer this with other mascaras! It dries really quickly, so is great if you like to wear more then 1 mascara like me.

Overall I would recommend this mascara to anyone who is a fan of layering mascara, as I find it gives a great boast to the lashes and doesn't clump at all! So you won't end up walking around like some sort of panda all day. Its great if you want a natural day time look for work or school, and can be easily layered up with other mascaras or this one, to create a slightly more dramatic evening look.

Review: Miss Sporty Pump Up Lash Booster Mascara

This is one of my more favourite mascara's out my whole collection!

It was the packaging that hooked me into first buying this mascara, which is strange because I usually buy products based on reviews. Plus it has recently hit the shelves of Superdrug and Boots, and I was after a new volumising mascara that actually works.

This mascara only comes in one shade, Extra Black

In case you can't read it, it says:
Up To 15x More Volume
Unique Mega Brush To Help To Max Out Volume
Volume Plumping Formula Enriched In Collagen
Ophthalmologist Tested

Lets take a look at the wand.

Before...

After...

This is easily one of the more larger mascara wands I own! The length of the wand itself is on the short side, in my opinion. The bristle's on the wand are quite long and there is plenty of them, which is great for getting from root to tip of your lash's. I really like this wand and find it works great with my lashes, its really easy to work with as like i mentioned before the length of the wand is short. So you don't end up with mascara all over your eyelids.

The formula itself definitely contributes to giving the lashes the volumisied look. Even though I wouldn't say it gave "15x More volume" however i would say it gave about 5x more volume, giving you a natural but volumised look. Which for the price isn't actually that bad.

This mascara clumps slightly, depending on how much product is on the brush. As sometimes i find the formula to sort of "clog" in between the bristles. Like the tip of the mascara shown on the picture. But that can also easily be wiped of with a tissue. It doesn't flake of onto the skin, and the volumised look lasts all day. However I wouldn't recommend using this mascara on your bottom lash's, as with the big wand you might get mascara under your eye.

Overall I'm really pleased with this purchase! For only £3.99 from Superdrug or Boots, this mascara is great if your just starting out in makeup or are thinking of experimenting with a new mascara. I'm a sucker for mascara and I have always got my eye on trying new ones. I mostly end up coming back to this one though.

Haul - Superdrug & Boots

Okay, so I'm going to get right into it as the post is very *picture heavy*

Only 5 things but still a haul :)

First thing i got was the NYC Smooth Skin pressed face powder.

Shade "Naturally Beige"

I haven't been getting on very well with my current face powder, the MUA one. I'm not too sure if the formula has been changed or something it just doesn't look good with foundation underneath, and totally changes the colour of my foundation and makes my face makeup look really cakey. Even though I've repurchased the MUA one 3 times, I thought I'd give this a go.

In a recent blog post I reviewed the Collection Cream Puff Lip Cream in Fairy Cake. I thought I'd get another shade from the range, this one in Cotton Candy, as i really liked Fairy Cake.

NYC City Curls Curling Mascara
Shade Carbon (Black)

I really like the wand on this mascara! I've heard good & bad things about the NYC mascaras, but for the few pound i paid for this I thought I'd give it a shot anyway.

 Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer

I've heard some amazing things about this concealer! I read on blogger somewhere that it was even compared to mac. I really can't wait to review this concealer , and see if it really is a High Street Gem! In shade "Fair 1"

Maybelline Color Tattoo 24HR Cream Gel Shadow
Shade Eternal Gold

Saved the best till last!;)
I think I may be a bit slow on the whole "Color Tattoo" thing. But I really wanted to try one of these out, and for the price you get a more then generous amount and there so pigmented when swatched they will last ages!

Thanks for Reading! :)xxx

March Favourites!

Well its that time of the month again! Well not really... this a few days delayed then i would of liked it.

This month favourites are ......
  • MUA Professional Eyeshadow Palette - Glamour Days
  • Natural Collection Eyeshadow - Spring Green
  • Miss Sporty Mascara - Pump Up Booster
  • MUA Eyeliner - Snow White
  • Miss Sporty Blusher - Flirtatious
  • MUA Lipstick - Shade 4
  • Barry M Lipgloss - limited edition
  • MUA Love Hearts Range Nail Polish - Love u 27/7
  • Barry M Nail Paint - Strawberry Ice cream

I'm going to do this in brands....

MUA Pro Eyeshadow Palette , Glamour Days - This month I've been really into using my MUA palettes as there so good quality and great for the price. As summer is just around the corner , i wanted a palette with a good range of "summery/spring" shades with a pop of colour , which were great for daytime. This palette has it all! Compact with 12 amazingly pigmented shades of great choice this palette is perfect for only £4 available from Superdrug and MUA's website.

MUA Eyeliner , Snow White - I love this eyeliner! I bought this for only £1 and its great quality and really pigmented. I only bought it to use on my waterline , as i read online that applying white eyeliner to your waterline makes your eyes/eyeshadow pop. It actually does! Once again this product is available from Superdrug and MUA's website

MUA Lipstick , Shade 4 - This is my favourite lipstick out of my full collection at the moment! Its the perfect shade for spring and VERY moisturising. Its really pigmented , however it also gives a really glossy finish so you don't have to use a lipgloss. For only £1 from Superdrug and MUA's website this lipstick is great value.

MUA Love Hearts Range Nail Polish , Love U 24/7 - I've been loving this shade this month! Its a great summer shade and very once applied. It took me 2 coats to get the colour fully opaque , and lasts about a week with a top coat. Only £2 from Selected Superdrugs and MUA's website.

Miss Sporty Mascara , Pump up Booster - OMG! This is like my go to mascara now i love it! It takes about 2 coats to get a natural looking affect and could be built up more if desired. I really love the affect it gives on my horrible spidery lashes the wand is really big , which i think helps the application. Only £3.99 from Supedrugs and Superdrugs website.

Miss Sporty Blusher , Flirtatious - I quite like this blusher , i bought it when i ran out of my staple everyday blush. Which had a sheer natural finish, this however gives a more pink effect with shimmer. It lasts all day so its great value for the £3.09 i paid. From Superdrug and Superdrug On line.

Barry M Lipgloss , Limited edition - This is my most favourite lip gloss ever! Its a baby pink colour , with natural looking glitter / shimmery. However the glitter appears very natural , which makes the lips sparkle in natural sunlight. I got this in the offer where you get a body impulse and a Barry m limited edition lip gloss for free. I wish this wasn't limited edition as I'm almost out and i love it!

Barry M Nail Paint - Strawberry Ice cream - This a great nail colour which is really on trend with the season. I got this for £2.99 from Superdrug , and for the price i paid its great value for money. I usually apply 2-3 coats or so to make it opaque , however the formula is fast drying so its not that bad. Its a lovely baby pink colour which i love. You can buy this on line from the Barry M website too.

Natural Collection Eyeshadow , Spring Green - I love this eyeshadow , its really pigmented for the small price i paid, £1.79 from Boots. Its one of my favourite eye shadows for spring time. Or you could buy 3 things for £5 from this brand at boots. Definitely think i will have to try more things from this brand.
