Review: MUA Pro Going For Gold Eye Palette!

This is easily my favourite palette by MUA.... Yet! To celebrate the Olympics MUA introduced a limited edition eyeshadow palette. The same as the other palettes, this costs £4 from Superdrug or you can purchase it from the MUA website here. At the moment it's on offer, with a £1 off.

Unlike the other MUA palettes, this one has square pans and only 10 shades, unlike the usual 12 circle pans.

 First Row, Shades 1-5

Second Row, Shades 6-10

Likewise all the other MUA Pro palettes, the pigmentation is fantastic, not something you would really expect from a £4 drugstore palette. The matte shades of the palette, are slightly less pigmented, yet they are still easily build able which I love! They are sooo creamy to swatch, apply and blend together with ease. This palette is mainly pearl based with the odd matte thrown into the mix, however the shimmer on some of the pearl shades is hard to believe. Shade 5 is a mix of yellow/orange/gold and is EXTREMELY shimmery.

I can usually get a full day of wear out of these eye shadows alongside primer, without they crease slightly by the end of the day, but still remain their vibrant colour. Likewise the other palettes you get a little double ended sponge applicator, which I only ever use for Nail Art. The packaging of the palette is black plastic with a transparent lid, making the eye shadows within visible.

Overall I would definitely recommend giving this palette a go! For £4 it's totally worth a try, especially if your a Gold lover like me. I love wearing Golds near the end of Summer into fall.

Review: MUA Professional 3 in 1 Contour Eye Pen's!

If your a regular reader of my blog, you will noticed I've given it a makeover. Let me know what you think of it in the comments section below...

Let's set things straight, even though in my monthly favourites I feature pretty much neutral eye shadows and eyeliner. I'm going to be honest, I'm bold eye lover at heart! MUA Pro 3 in 1 Contour Eye Pen's can be purchased from any Superdrug that sells the MUA Pro range or MUA's website, with an amazing price tag of only £1.50.  And I've got two of these babies in Sage and Gunmetal.

No sharpening needed, you just twist up the black bit at the top of the pen to reveal the product!

Left To Right: Gunmetal, Sage.

MUA Say's:
"Create the look with this fantastic 3 in1 Contour Eye Pen. The angles of the nib allows you to create different looks whatever your occasion. Add drama by creating big and bold eyes, go glamorous for a soft and sulty effect, or define eyes for an ultra chic finish."

I've only recently started getting into wearing eyeliner again, and these are a easy go to! They glide on super pigmented onto the lid, within a few swipes they build up to fully opaque. The formula is very creamy and soft, almost butter like. I found these lasted pretty much all day on my upper lid and lower lash line, however I'm not certain on the waterline.

I really like the packaging! I especially like how you don't need to sharpen them, as I can be quite lazy when it comes to sharpening eyeliner. I think the matte black packaging, may not look exactly high end, but it certainly doesn't look cheap. My only problem being with these eyeliners is that it doesn't say the shade name on the packaging, so you would have to take the lid off and twist the product up to see what shade it was.

Overall I would highly recommend these eye pens! They're great for popping into your bag and for travelling, the nib allows you to create numerous looks so there's no need to carry around 3 different eyeliners with you. For pigmentation and lasting power you certainly can't complain! For the price these are fantastic, and I think I'll definitely be picking up another on my next travel to Superdrug.

Review: MUA Professional Eyeshadow Palette, Heaven and Earth

I know I've already reviewed a MUA palette before, but since this one was in my May favourites and I've been using it so much lately I thought I may swell do a review on it. Also I've been messing about with my lighting lately, let me know what you think of it the comments box.

The Heaven and Earth palette has got to be the most popular palette in the MUA range at the moment, in my opinion. Available from selected Superdrug stores , and the MUA website. The Heaven and Earth palette costs a small £4's!

Now lets take a closer look at what holds within....

With light...

Without...

MUA Says:
"A beautiful collection of eyeshadows that will enhance your eyes to give the perfect natural look."

Swatches! 1st Row...

 2nd Row...

As I've mentioned thousands and thousands of times before MUA eyeshadows are absolute amazing quality, compared to higher end eyeshadow as well as other high street brands. The pigmentation is amazing, the eyeshadows are all pearl/shimmer but not overpowering shimmer. They blend out very easy, the formula itself is quite buttery and creamy.

The lasting power is fantastic alongside primer, however primer isn't a necessity with these shadows. The packaging is like all other MUA pro palettes black plastic, sturdy, see through lid,  but does its job. It doesn't look high end, yet at the same time it doesn't look really cheap. It stands out from other palettes due to its see through lid making the eyeshadows easily visible.

There is a great range of eyeshadows to choose from in the palette, from bronze to pale beige to dark browns. This palette has everything a neutral eye lover will need! If you like this palette, then you will love MUA's new eyeshadow palette, Undressed , which is yet to be launched in July. And is already set to be a Urban Decay Naked dupe, due to the shades and name. Here's a picture of the undressed palette...

Anyways, overall I would definitely recommend the Heaven and Earth palette to anyone! I wasn't a neutral eye lover at all before this palette, but now I love them! The quality is fantastic, which you cant complain about all at. You get what you pay for packaging wise, but it does its job. The Heaven and Earth Palette, and MUA's Glamour Days Palette are probably my most favourite in my collection. And I will definitely be purchasing the new Undressed palette in July.

Review: MUA Professional Lip Boom with Alexandra Burke

I've so been looking forward to reviewing this product, I've got tones of positive things to say about this amazing holy grail product! I'm a bit late on reviewing it, but in case you don't know already MUA Pro Lip Booms are new to the MUA range, and were created with Alexandra Burke. They are £3 and come in 8 different shades, you can get them from Superdrug or the MUA website. I've got this little beauty in shade, Cheeky.

Lip Boom is basically a double ended lip product, it consists of a matte lipstick and a highlighting lip gloss

The lipstick is pale pink, and the highlighting lip gloss it slightly darker, but doesn't appear so as much on the lips. It also has chunks of glitter in.

One word to describe this Lip Boom is, Genius! Why hasn't anyone else ever thought of this sort of thing before?! Especially at the killer price of only £3. The lipstick is amazingly pigmented, likewise the lipsticks in the £1 range. However its also build able, so if you wanted to you could really pack on the colour. The highlighting lip gloss is the perfect match for the lipstick, I find applying this really gives that extra kick to the whole look. The highlighting lip gloss is quite gritty, but i wouldn't say it was overwhelmingly gritty. And did I forget to mention both the lipstick and lip gloss smell just like vanilla! However you can't smell it when its on the lips.

You can get four looks out of one lip boom:
  1. Lipstick alone for a matte look.
  2. Lipstick with highlighter applied just to the centre of your lips to create a full volume illusion.
  3. Lipstick with highlighter all over for a super-glossy look.
  4. Highlighter alone for a sheer pearl finish.
My favourite is either the highlighter alone, or the lipstick and highlighter applied all over the lips. So this Lip Boom really is a versatile product! Lasting power wise , I can get around 2-4 hours out of this. Which is way more then you could ask for considering the pricetag!

Overall I would recommend this Lip Boom to anyone who's a fan of lipstick! It also looks great on pale skinned girls, which from my experience is hard to find a lipstick that truly looks good with my skin tone. For the price you can't go wrong and out of 8 dazzling shades, I'm sure theres something for everyone! I've used this product everyday since I purchased it and I love it!

Review: MUA Single Eyeshadows!

I thought I'd so another post on MUA eyeshadows, since I love MUA eyeshadows so much and in my opinion the best on the market. I've got 10 of the single eyeshadows, I had a few more but i hit pan so here's the MUA eyeshadows I now own.

Top Row Shades Left to Right: 1, 3, 4, 5, 6,
Bottom Row Shades Left to Right: 7, 9, 11, 16, 26

Here's a closer look with the lids off.

Top Row Swatches!

 Left to Right: 1, 3, 4, 5, 6,

Bottom Row Swatches!

Left to Right: 7, 9, 11, 16, 26

Wow.

Quality and price tags like this make you wonder why some brands charge so much for a eyeshadow of similar size and shade. As you can tell by the pictures these eyeshadows are VERY pigmented, shade 16 on the bottom row isn't as pigmented. All these eyeshadows are pearl apart from shade 16, which is Matt. I find that the lighter Matt shades aren't as pigmented as the darker ones, but hey for £1 why complain about 1 or 2 Matt eyeshadows in the full MUA single eyeshadow range. The lasting power on these is incredible! And dare I say better then MAC! That is without a primer on both.

The packaging isn't the most fanciest in the world, but it definitely does it's job. When i was taking the photos for this post I dropped shade 7 on the floor, and it remained in perfect condition. So these eyeshadows are definitely travel friendly. I only have one complaint about the packaging and that is the doomed shaped lid, which makes them slightly tricky to store. On the back of the packaging it tells you the shade number, and formula type.

Availability wise the MUA £1 range is in most Superdrugs which i know of so there quite easy to get your hands on. You can also order off the MUA website, they've usually got an offer on as well you might be able to pick yourself up another bargain! Overall I can't recommend these eyeshadows enough! For £1 you get 2g's of highly pigmented eyeshadow with a great lasting power, what more could you ask for! No matter how long you've been into makeup, I would definitely advise you try out MUA eyeshadows as in my opinion are the best eyeshadows you can get.

Review: MUA Professional Eyeshadow Palette, Glamour Days!

Im back! Today I have a review of one of the amazing MUA eyeshadow palettes, which I'm sure most of you have heard of. But in case you haven't these palettes are available from Superdrug for £4's and MUA's online store for the same price. Today I'm going to be reviewing one of my favourite MUA palettes, Glamour Days.

Here's a closer look of the eyeshadow's inside....

The back of the palette....

It comes with a sponge applicator, but I prefer brushes

These are the swatches for the first row of eyeshadows....

The second row....

Like I said this is easily one of my favourite MUA palettes, the eyeshadows are amazingly pigmented for the small £4's you pay. The photos don't do them any justice! They are really easy to blend, and you get a more then fair amount in the pan. I think i might of got a faulty palette though, because you can tell from the swatches of the first row the 4th and 5th shade look extremely similar.

I love the range of eyeshadows in this palette, its the perfect range of neutrals, along with a pop of purples, blues and lilacs. Theres also the odd 2 matte eyeshadows crammed in the palette.  So its great if your travelling and want a everyday range of colours to choose from. These shadows last all day alongside primer, and don't fade at all.

The packaging is black plastic, like wise most of the products in the MUA Pro range. It has a transparent lid, which is great if you have a draw full of eyeshadow palettes and your trying to find the right one. Its not the most stylish packaging but it does its job, and is easily recognisable as a MUA product.

This palette is easily at the top of the list of my most used ones, and i highly recommend it if your looking for dupes of higher end eyeshadows. Which the eyeshadows from this brand easily compare to. MUA are also bringing out a new eyeshadow palette to which I'm super excited about, check their Twitter or Facebook page for more information on that.

Review: MUA Pro Out There Plumping Lipgloss

Well today I've got a review for you beauties :)

Today I'm going to be reviewing the MUA Pro Out There Plumping Lipgloss , these are available from Supedrug for only £2's each. As well as the MUA website. There are seven sensational shades to choose from , I have 3 of them. The ones I have are in Peach Shimmer, Nude and Candy Pink.
Left to Right: Peach Shimmer , Nude , Candy Pink.....
It also tells you the shade names on the top of the lid's.
The applicator is the usual doe foot style. Again the ligloss's are in the same order as the first photo.
Swatches!
Left to Right: Peach Shimmer , Nude , Candy Pink

Peach Shimmer : A hot pink shimmery colour, slightly more wearable for evenings then day times. Best suited with neutral plain makeup to create a bright bold lip.

Nude: Its all in the name! Nude is a well... nude colour not as pigmented as the other two lipgloss's i have but still shows on the lips. Suits any sort makeup , bright and bold or everyday.

Candy Pink: A soft , light baby pink colour. Not as shimmery as Peach Shimmer , but still has the shimmer every lipgloss has. Best described as the "matte" of the 3 shades. Suits neutral makeup , and maybe something slightly bolder?

I really love these lipgloss's! For lipgloss's these products are very pigmented, easily 3 of the most pigmented lipgloss's i have ever tried. There not sticky and apply very easily to the lips, and are easy to blend out onto them as well. They last about 2-3 hours without eating or drinking, however when the shimmer and shine starts to fade your still left with a sort of sheen of the colour on your lips. They aren't as moisturising as the lipsticks , however i definitely wouldn't say they were drying!
As for the plumping effect that MUA claims? Does that work? Yes , definitely! Once applied to the lips within a few seconds you feel a slight tingling and warm sensation on your lips. So they definitely do plump your lips , giving you a natural looking pout.

For the price these lipgloss's are great to have in your collection! They work really well as plumping lipgloss's and show really pigmented on the lips. I would definitely recommend these lipgloss's!

Thanks for Reading! :)

I really enjoy reading your feedback , so it would be great if you could leave a comment below!xxx

Review: MUA Pro BB Creams!

Well about a week or two back , I won a contest! Yay! I won the 3 new MUA Pro BB Creams and late last week they came. These BB Creams are only £4 from Superdrug or the MUA website, but if you buy them before 10/04/12 you get £1 off so there only £3 each. Bargain!
Left to Right : Light , Medium and Dark

Oh , and before i start reviewing i thought i would include a picture of the note that the MUA makeup artist , Karla Powell , had included in the parcel.

I thought it was really nice :)

Okay so back to reviewing. Incase you can't read the photo above , because its a rubbish photo MUA promises :

Inspired by Asian Beauty Balms, our brand new MUA BB Foundation is a full coverage foundation containing a multi-functional formula that conceals, brightens and evens out skin tone for a perfect complexion.

Left to Right : Light , Medium and Dark

I've really got nothing bad to say about this great little beauty bargain! The packaging allows you to get all the product out the tube to finish it properly, as well as let you control how much product comes out letting you get the perfect amount. For the price you pay , the packaging is sturdy and travel friendly so great for popping into your bag for a top up, not that you would need too! The product lasts all day!

The actual formula itself is amazing! It doesn't dry out my skin and doesn't cause me to break-out. It covers redness and uneven skin tones really well and definitely gives you a more "even" finish. I found that it didn't cling to dry patches. The formula is quite thick , however you can easily blend it out. I actually prefer thick foundations , as that way you use less product , because your blending it out more. And thicker foundations i find give more coverage. Which this BB cream definitely gives!

I would definitely recommend anyone to try out this great new product! As there is definitely a shade for everyone. The adapting technologies in the formula make sure everyone has a shade to suit them. The shade that i use is Light , however i might have to cross over onto medium as summer starts to kick in... if Britain ever has one.

Thanks for reading!

Have you had the chance to try this great product let? Have you tried any of MUA's products yet? Comment below as i love reading your comments! :)
